At the kindergarten we pride ourselves on letting the children take control of their learning, and this week has been a prime example of the children using the environment and the weather conditions to their advantage.
This week the children have had a mixed bag of weather, but they have not let that effect what they do in the woods. This week we have had stories in the woods under a tarp and have also used a tarp as a matt to enjoy some rare sunshine.
The children have also been enjoying looking for bugs this week and have learned with the dark and damp conditions that the woodland environment supplies this is perfect conditions for some creepy crawlies to live in. Although the children get down close to our woodland friends, we always make sure we do not damage their habitat.
As well as the learning aspect at WOK, there is also time for the children to let their hair down and have fun – and what better way to do so than launch their very own range of necklaces and grasses and model them in camp!
