There is a saying – ‘every day is a school day’ – and that is certainly the case here at WOK! This week the children were getting up close and personal with some creepie crawlies. The children discovered a crane fly and, with help of some of the teachers, learned some facts about these insects. They learned that crane flies change from larvae to flies in much the same way as butterflies. The children were also lucky enough to watch the crane fly emerge from its cocoon!
Some of the other children took a much more physical approach to their learning this week and were learning how to keep their balance on logs as well as testing out their climbing abilities. This was all done whilst the children naturally risk assessed the dangerous and made sure that they were not only having fun but also staying safe at the same time. All in all it’s just another week of fun and learning in the best playground the children can have…….the great outdoors!! 🙂
